Being a department that relies heavily on the help of our neighbors for manpower at times, it's nice to return the favor every now and then.

Always a pleasure visiting Kell Fire Protection District and Jason Franke!

Happy birthday to the saltiest leather head we have, Shift 2 Captain Scott Wiesen! Scott started with CFD just shy of 20 years ago, coming to us with a ton of prior fire service experience. Scott got his start in the metro east before moving to Hopkinsville, KY for several years before joining us in 2005. Scott takes pride in the history of the fire service and bringing up future firefighters with the skills they need to succeed. He is always willing to be the first to get his hands dirty to get the job done, no matter who else is on the fire ground. Thank you for all you do for our community and enjoy this year! ... Happy Birthday to Retired Lt. Rob Smith II! Rob served the city for more than 27 years before he retired in 2023. Rob served more years than we can count on the CFD pension board and has always been one to go to for information on CFD history. Thank you Rob for all you've done for our community as well as past and future CFD firefighters.

Enjoy the next year!

Happy Birthday to Shift 1 Captain Blake Perez! Serving the city since July 7, 2005, Blake wears many hats; Captain, Inspector, Instructor, unofficial/official/slightly full time fire truck mechanic guy (because something is always broke at CFD) to name just a few. He has also served on the executive board in multiple roles and as the L618 President for the last several years. Blake has consistently continued his education throughout his career earning a vast number of certifications to better not only his knowledge but the department as a whole.

Thank You for the work you've put in for our department and for serving the people of the City of Centralia. We hope this next year is good to you, especially today while on shift. If you drive by station 1 today be sure to give Blake a honk for his birthday!
